For whom the practice is suitable and when is a good time to start ?
Well, every moment is a good time to start.
According to yoga, we all have an equal potential to experience stillness, quiet and inner peace in our lives.
Each one of us will meet the practice from a different angle though…
What does it mean?
Well, the asana practice (postures) is made to release emotional stress from our system.
Some of us are more condensed (have a lot to release) and some less.
In the end, at one level or another, yoga will meet every one of us.
The way we work on our mat is almost identical to the way we approach our daily life.
From my experience Ashtanga yoga series, in all their levels and layers, meet our physical system in the most profound way and allow us access to less trivial postures.
It gives us the opportunity to be in contact with a huge stock of places, both on a physical and emotional level, which we can open and release.

"Simply and pleasantly, Erica drew me deep into the world of yoga. Her classes are very professional on the physical level. Together with that she always emphasizes the spiritual part and enriches us during the class.
Thanks to her today I practice daily myself:) "

So…. what will we have in the practice ?
We will start each session with observation (dhyna), calm our thoughts and make space for stillness.
We will practice pranayama- how to flow the energy (prana) in our system using the breath.
Each session will invite new experiences.
We will get familiar with Ashtanga series- it will be the base for our practice.
In some sessions we will move from the series to a different composition of the postures, what we call- yoga mala.
Mala is a garland in Sanskrit.
It is a set of beads that are traditionally been used in prayer and meditation.
In mala practice, we are taking our familiar (and sometimes less familiar…) “beads” and play with them.
This way we keep ourselves creative & challenge our system to learn something new about movement all the time.
Sometimes we will focus on specific subjects, like opening the chest, pelvis, spine, shoulder girdle, leg work and rooting down, twisting and so on.
In our sessions, we will also discuss yoga philosophy (we will read from the yoga sutras) and other spiritual realms like Dao, Sufism, Buddhism and more.
We will see how this ancient knowledge meets us outside the mat:)

"They always say that the most important thing in a yoga class is the teacher and after few classes with Erica I realized that it is true.
Erica knows how to approach each student and give him a personal and special attention. It is very easy to connect and love yoga in the way that Erica teaches:) "
